Yord Fandar

A human male Jedi Knight named Yord Fandar served the Jedi Order during the era of the High Republic. When he was a Jedi Padawan, he formed a friendship with Verosha "Osha" Aniseya. After his promotion to Jedi Knight, Tasi Lowa became his Padawan.

In the year 132 BBY, Fandar and Lowa journeyed to the Trade Federation freighter called Fallon. There, he took Osha into custody because she was suspected of murdering Jedi Master Indara on Ueda. Soon after, he went with Sol, a Jedi Master, and his Padawan Jecki Lon to Carlac to locate Osha. Osha was later exonerated when it was revealed that her twin sister, Mae-ho "Mae" Aniseya, was still alive and involved in the death of Master Torbin on Olega.

Later, Fandar became part of a Jedi team led by Sol on a mission to Khofar. Their goal was to rescue Master Kelnacca and capture Mae. However, they were ambushed by Mae's master, "The Stranger", who had already killed Kelnacca. "The Stranger" wounded Fandar, and Sol instructed Fandar to take Osha back to their ship. However, Osha ultimately persuaded Fandar to return to the fight and assist the others. This decision led to his death when "The Stranger" quickly overpowered him and broke his neck. Master Vernestra Rwoh later discovered his body while gathering the battle's casualties for a proper burial.

Biography

Early life and becoming a knight

Yord Fandar was initiated into the Jedi Order and developed a friendship with Osha Aniseya during their time as Padawans in the High Republic Era. In 134 BBY, Padawan Fandar successfully completed his Jedi Trials and was elevated to the rank of Jedi Knight. By 132 BBY, he had accepted Tasi Lowa, a Zygerrian, as his Padawan learner.

Retrieving a suspect

Yord Fandar and his Padawan learner, Tasi Lowa, are seen questioning Osha Aniseya.

Around this time, after Jedi Master Indara was killed on Ueda by Mae-ho Aniseya, a Force-sensitive assassin, Fandar and Lowa traveled to the Trade Federation freighter Fallon. Their mission was to apprehend Osha Aniseya, a meknek who had left the Order approximately six years earlier and was the twin sister of Mae, and who was implicated in the crime. The two Jedi arrived on the freighter aboard a Jedi Vector and proceeded to the bridge. There, Fandar introduced himself and Lowa before inquiring about Osha from Blex, the Neimoidian Captain. Despite the captain's denial of having any mekneks on board, another Neimoidian officer revealed Osha's location. Fandar then waited for Osha in her room.

Yord, Sol, and Jecki are pictured attempting to retrieve Osha.

Upon Osha's return to her room, they briefly caught up before Fandar accused her of Indara's murder. Osha reluctantly complied and was transported back to Coruscant aboard the prison transport Palwick. However, Fandar was later summoned by Jedi Master Sol and his Padawan Jecki Lon to retrieve Osha following the Palwick's crash on Carlac after a prison break by several other inmates.

Traveling to Olega

After rescuing Osha from Carlac, Fandar, along with Verosha Aniseya, Jedi Master Sol, and his Padawan Jecki Lon, journeyed to Olega. Their mission was a failed attempt to rescue Jedi Master Torbin.

Confrontation on Khofar

Yord is pictured locking blades with The Stranger.

Following the mission on Olega, Fandar joined a group of Jedi led by Sol to travel to the planet Khofar. Their objective was to find and capture Mae-ho Aniseya before she could kill the Wookiee Jedi Master Kelnacca. Accompanied by Osha and Bazil, a Tynnan tracker, Fandar and the group eventually found Mae, but they were too late to save Kelnacca. However, Mae was not responsible for Kelnacca's death; instead, it was her master who ambushed the group and began attacking them. After being wounded in the fight, Fandar found Osha and began escorting her away from the battle for her safety. While fleeing, Osha, fearing for everyone else's safety, convinced Fandar to return to the fight. Upon returning, Fandar attacked Mae's master, who was revealed to be Qimir, using the Sith's cortosis helmet against him to disable his lightsaber. However, Qimir quickly overpowered Fandar, knocked him down, and promptly snapped the Jedi Knight's neck, resulting in his death.

Legacy

After Sol sent a Distress signal to the Jedi Temple, Vernestra Rwoh brought another team of Jedi to Khofar to speak with him about the mission. However, Sol departed from Khofar before Rwoh's team arrived. Rwoh and Mog Adana discovered the bodies of Fandar and his fallen comrades. She instructed him to take them to the ship, so they could all receive a proper burial.
