Blex

Blex, a Neimoidian serving the Trade Federation, held the rank of captain aboard the WD-2550 Whydah-class yield conveyer called the Fallon. Back in 132 BBY, while the freighter was in space, it was in need of repairs to its shield generator. Therefore, the mekneks Verosha Aniseya and Fillik were dispatched to the ship's exterior to handle the necessary work. As the repairs were underway, Blex voiced his impatience, referring to the mekneks as expendable, words that Aniseya and Fillik overheard through the ship's comms.

Subsequently, a Jedi Vector docked with the Fallon, and the Jedi Yord Fandar and Tasi Lowa approached Blex on the freighter's bridge. They informed the captain that they were searching for Aniseya. Blex denied her presence, citing the Galactic Republic law prohibiting the use of mekneks for external ship repairs. However, when Fandar prepared to employ the Force on him, Blex's first officer revealed the location of Aniseya's bunk.

Biography

Cruel captain

During the High Republic Era, Blex, a Neimoidian, was employed by the Trade Federation as the captain of the Fallon, a weathered WD-2550 Whydah-class yield conveyer functioning as a cargo vessel. In 132 BBY, the freighter required attention to its shield generators while it was in space. Despite Galactic Republic regulations that only droids could perform outer ship repairs, the job was assigned to the freelance human mekneks Verosha Aniseya and Fillik. As the mekneks toiled on the ship's exterior, Blex, stationed on the bridge, complained about the time the repairs were consuming, demanding the immediate activation of the shields.

Blex was captain of the Fallon, a Trade Federation cargo freighter.

After Blex's first officer informed him that the mekneks were actively working on the problem, Blex dismissed the pair as replaceable, contrasting them with the ship's valuable cargo. However, the mekneks were able to hear the audio from the bridge via their comms. Aniseya responded over the bridge's speakers, asserting that while Fillik might be expendable, she was not, prompting a groan from Blex. The mekneks continued their work, and when a pressure valve blew, Aniseya managed to repair it.

The Jedi arrive

As the repair work was ongoing, a Jedi Vector drew near to the Fallon, circling the ship while Blex and his first officer observed from the bridge, both expressing their displeasure upon recognizing the starfighter as belonging to the Jedi Order. The Vector then docked with the freighter, and Jedi Knight Yord Fandar and his Padawan, Tasi Lowa, disembarked and entered the Fallon's bridge. The captain greeted them, but when the Jedi informed the Neimoidians that they sought Aniseya, Blex lied, claiming that the vessel had no passengers or mekneks, referencing the Republic legislation regarding outer hull repairs.

Blex unsuccessfully attempted to deceive the Jedi.

Fandar then raised his hand toward the captain to use the Force, causing Blex to stammer. This prompted the first officer to quickly reveal the location of Aniseya's bunk. The Jedi then left the bridge and arrested Aniseya, transferring her to the DTE-CSA-17 Calaboose prison ship Palwick, which had also docked with the Fallon.

Personality and traits

Blex flouted Republic regulations and valued profits above the well-being of his hired workers, viewing the mekneks on the Fallon as greasy and disposable. He expressed his annoyance both when having to listen to the mekneks and upon seeing the Jedi arrive. He feigned a welcoming attitude and lied to them upon their arrival in an attempt to conceal his disregard for Republic laws. Blex had green skin and red eyes. His height was 2.13 meters.

Equipment

While present on the bridge of the freighter he commanded, Blex was attired in blue robes accented with golden trim and golden frilled epaulettes. He also wore a tall, broad black hat adorned with golden decorations.
