A type of starship designed for the confinement and movement of prisoners was the prison ship. These vessels were also referred to as correctional vessels, dungeon ships, or prison transports. The Galactic Republic's Correctional Authority operated such ships during the time of the Clone Wars. Years later, in the New Republic Era, the New Republic utilized a particular model of prison ship, which was primarily staffed by droids. The Oubliette-class transport used by the Knights of Ren was a prison transport built by Osseriton Assemblages of the penal world Osseriton.
