The schematics of a New Republic Correctional Transport

The prison ship transport known as the New Republic Correctional Transport was a class of vessel employed by the New Republic Correctional Corps in the years following the Galactic Civil War, specifically by 9 ABY. It was designed with fortified features, catering to maximum security requirements. The control center of the ship resided on sub-level three and incorporated integrated surveillance capabilities. This prison vessel incorporated fourteen compartments, equally distributed between the starboard and port sides, and was propelled by four substantial CEC-5900hh ion engines. Each of the four engines featured a configuration of four small circles aligned vertically.

In terms of armament, the transport was equipped with four double laser cannons. Two were positioned at the front of the ship on the port and starboard sides, while another was situated slightly behind on a slightly elevated platform. Furthermore, a fourth cannon was located towards the aft section of the ship, mounted on a long and elevated platform that also housed the rectangular sensor dish behind it.

Interior

The transport's interior was defined by hallways painted white and flooring in a gray tone. Along the hallway sides were located holding cells for prisoners, each with circular doors. The hallways featured T-shaped intersections where they connected within the ship, complete with lighting fixtures, ventilation shafts, and control panels integrated into the walls and ceilings.

History

The Razor Crest begins to dock with a New Republic Correctional Transport

Around the time of 9 ABY, a crew was assembled by the criminal figure Ranzar Malk with the objective of rescuing a fellow criminal associate. Din Djarin, the Mandalorian, consented to participate with the crew and permit the utilization of his gunship, known as the Razor Crest, for the planned operation. Ranzar, along with Migs Mayfeld, the team's point-man, provided a briefing to the rest of the crew, during which Djarin discovered that their target was a New Republic Correctional Transport holding their associate.

Following persuasion, the crew initiated the heist, docking onto one of the hull's dorsal couplings to gain entry to the ship. After engaging and neutralizing New Republic security droids, as well as killing Lieutenant Lant Davan, they successfully freed the prisoner X-6-9-11, the Twi'lek named Qin. At this point, Djarin was double-crossed and confined within the ship, although he managed to break free and subdue the remaining members of the team one by one. Subsequently, Djarin transported Qin back to the Roost space station where Ranzar was awaiting their arrival.
