Rick Famuyiwa, an American film director, producer, and screenwriter, was born on June 18, 1973. He is most recognized for his work on the 2015 movie, Dope. Famuyiwa took the director's chair for several episodes of The Mandalorian, the live-action Star Wars television show created by Jon Favreau. Following his direction of two episodes in the first season of the series, news outlets reported, and Famuyiwa's representatives verified on August 21, 2019, that he would also be directing a yet-to-be-revealed number of episodes for The Mandalorian's second season. During Celebration Anaheim in 2022, it was revealed that Famuyiwa would take on the roles of executive producer and director for the third season, in addition to directing episode eight of the first season of Ahsoka. In "Chapter 6" and "Chapter 21", Famuyiwa also portrays Jib Dodger, who is a pilot of a T-65B X-wing starfighter for the Adelphi Rangers.
