On Garqi, Kai Justiss is met by the Crimson Nova operatives Zuckuss, Breela, and Boushh. The Crimson Nova was a specialized division within the Bounty Hunters' Guild, focusing specifically on hunting down Jedi. Active both before and during the Clone Wars, the Crimson Nova was renowned as one of the most formidable chapters. Their base of operations was The Rig, a space station situated in the Stenness Node.
During the Clone Wars era, Kh'aris Fenn approached Mika, a Farghul who led the Crimson Nova, presenting offers for bounties on members of the Jedi Order. Before this encounter, while a Human named Stroth was in command, the Crimson Nova had avoided conflicts with the Jedi Knights. However, Mika authorized these bounties targeting Jedi, which resulted in a destructive assault on Jedi located on Null. This drew the attention of Jedi Master Mace Windu. Windu, together with Masters Kit Fisto, Saesee Tiin, and Agen Kolar, dismantled the chapter when they declined to cooperate.
Aurra Sing was also a member of this chapter; she later traded information to the Jedi, which was instrumental in locating Crimson Nova, in exchange for her release from Oovo IV.
After serving time in prison, Mika eventually re-established the Crimson Nova. Not long after the Battle of Yavin, Nova members Breela (Mika's daughter), Boushh, and Zuckuss located and confronted the fugitive Jedi Master Kai Justiss on the planet Garqi.
