Cult Encounters of the Star Wars Universe represents an RPG article that was prepared for a Star Wars Gamer issue that was never released. The authors slated to write it were Joseph Bongiorno and Rich Handley, with illustrations by Joe Corroney. A sequel article, titled Supernatural Encounters in the Star Wars Universe, was planned to follow. The initial article was eventually released on www.starwarstimeline.net, though without the role-playing game statistics and artwork.
