Joseph Bongiorno

Joseph "Joe" Bongiorno lent his talents to Star Wars Gamemaster Screen, Revised by West End Games and, in collaboration with Rich Handley, co-authored "The University of Sanbra Guide to Intelligent Life: The Marvel Series." Furthermore, he is the individual behind the Star Wars Expanded Universe Timeline website, serving as its webmaster.

Biography

For Star Wars Gamemaster Screen, Revised, a supplement for the Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game by West End Games released in 1996, Joseph "Joe" Bongiorno offered his expertise in playtesting and provided advice for its development. Peet Janes acknowledged Bongiorno's contributions to "The Passing of a Legend: Archie Goodwin," a piece in Star Wars Insider 38 honoring Archie Goodwin after his passing in 1998. Bongiorno, alongside Rich Handley, jointly penned the article "The University of Sanbra Guide to Intelligent Life: The Marvel Series," featured in the pages of Star Wars Gamer 1 during the year 2000.

After the publication of "The University of Sanbra Guide to Intelligent Life: The Marvel Series," Bongiorno embarked on the creation of two articles, "Cult Encounters of the Star Wars Universe" and "Supernatural Encounters in the Star Wars Universe." The former was a collaboration with Handley, and the latter was intended to follow the themes explored in the first. These articles were originally conceived for Star Wars Gamer; however, the magazine ceased publication in 2002. Subsequently, Bongiorno reworked these concepts into two proposals: an article provisionally titled "Cult Encounters: Excerpts from the Last Days of Arhul Hextrophon" and a novella with the working title of Supernatural Encounters: The Trial and Transformation of Arhul Hextrophon. He successfully proposed this duology to Hyperspace, the subscriber section of StarWars.com, and commenced preparations for their publication. However, the announcement of Hyperspace's closure in 2010 prevented their official release by Lucasfilm Ltd.. Despite this, he has persevered in writing and refining these works.

As the originator and webmaster, Bongiorno maintains the Star Wars Expanded Universe Timeline, a dedicated fan site. This resource offers chronological details, assessments, and recommended reading lists for materials belonging to the Star Wars Legends continuity, previously recognized as the Expanded Universe. The website also serves as an archive for unpublished Star Wars materials, categorized as "lost (and found)." Furthermore, he has independently released his own unpublished writings through this platform.
