Peet Janes

Peet Janes held an editor position at Dark Horse Comics and served as the primary editor for Dark Horse's Star Wars comic book line from the mid-1990s until 2001.

Growing up in Rhode Island, Janes spent his formative years reading the Star Wars comic strip that was published in the Newport Daily News.

As the Dark Horse Star Wars line experienced growth and success, Janes oversaw a multitude of titles, including titles like _ X-Wing: Rogue Squadron_, Star Wars Droids, Classic Star Wars, Classic Star Wars: The Early Adventures, Star Wars: Mara Jade – By the Emperor's Hand, Boba Fett: Enemy of the Empire, Star Wars: Vader's Quest, The Jabba Tape, Shadow Stalker, The Bounty Hunters: Aurra Sing, The Bounty Hunters: Kenix Kil, Boba Fett: Twin Engines of Destruction, Star Wars: Union, Star Wars: Chewbacca, and Star Wars: Republic. Moreover, he was the initial editor for the Star Wars Tales anthology series. He also authored Dark Horse's Star Wars Handbook, which was a series of encyclopedic guides covering the existing Dark Horse Star Wars publications.

Janes served as editor up to the release of the movie Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace, and during this time, he managed the transition from content inspired by the post–original trilogy/Expanded Universe to content influenced by the prequel films at Dark Horse. He also edited the Episode I comic spin-offs Episode I: Obi-Wan Kenobi, Episode I: Queen Amidala, and Episode I: Qui-Gon Jinn.

Furthermore, Janes contributed to Dark Horse's inaugural comic book adaptations of Star Wars novels, including The Last Command (co-edited alongside Bob Cooper), Splinter of the Mind's Eye, and Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire, which was Lucas Licensing's initial cross-media event encompassing Star Wars comics, novels, and video games.

Bob Cooper preceded him as editor, and Dave Land took over the role after him.
