Star Wars Tales, sometimes presented as Star Wars: Tales, is a comic book anthology series, considered quasi-canonical under the Legends banner, and published by Dark Horse Comics. Its publication spanned twenty-four issues, released on a quarterly basis from 1999 to 2005. Each edition contained a collection of short narratives by various authors, each situated within different periods of the overarching Star Wars saga. The complete Star Wars Tales collection was later compiled into six paperback books, each encompassing four individual issues.
In May of 2002, the Free Comic Book Day special, titled Star Wars: Tales—A Jedi's Weapon, was made available. This issue featured the story "A Jedi's Weapon," which was subsequently reprinted in Star Wars Tales 12.
Certain narratives presented within Star Wars Tales exist outside the established continuity. The popularity of this series eventually paved the way for Star Wars Infinities, a sequence of comic book mini-series that explore alternative historical interpretations of the Star Wars original trilogy.
