Cutter, a male Human clone trooper, served within the ranks of the Grand Army of the Republic. He participated in a mission to the planet Oznek in 22 BBY, operating under the leadership of Clone Sergeant Banks and Commander Griebs Kishpaugh.
Born on Kamino, Cutter was a male Human clone trooper created for the Galactic Republic. As the Clone Wars erupted in 22 BBY, Cutter became one of the countless clones forming the Republic's Grand Army of the Republic, distinguishing himself by decorating his armor with red patterns. During that same year, Cutter was dispatched on a mission to the planet Oznek, reporting directly to Clone Sergeant Banks and Commander Griebs Kishpaugh. He developed a close bond with a fellow clone named Syke during this assignment. While aboard a Low Altitude Assault Transport flying over the planet's forested terrain, Cutter, along with Syke and Ghost, teased their new sergeant about his meticulous cleaning of his armor and weaponry. Banks cautioned them regarding their conduct, but shortly afterward, their transport was subjected to intense enemy fire. Despite the area supposedly being clear of Confederate forces, they encountered a substantial droid army that shot them down.

The LAAT's crash resulted in the deaths of the pilot and several clones upon impact. Syke managed to escape the wreckage through a hatch, only to be confronted by hundreds of approaching B1 and B2 battle droids. Armed with a RPS-6 rocket launcher, Cutter and the remaining clones defended themselves against the attacking droids while simultaneously safeguarding their wounded comrades and burying the fallen. Eventually, the relentless droid assault subsided, and the surviving seven clones concealed their presence by detonating a thermal detonator. Establishing a makeshift camp in the woods, Syke's attempts to utilize a communications array proved unsuccessful. After Crazy Legs inquired, Banks demonstrated the reason for his nickname—an exceptional capability to calculate angles and ricochet his blaster bolts off objects while maintaining their power to strike his intended target. Subsequently, they were contacted via holoprojector by Commander Kishpaugh after Syke successfully activated the array. Kishpaugh informed them of a nearby droid command center located twenty kilometers away, instructing them to destroy it despite their losses. He then dismissed Cutter and the rest of the clone troopers from the shelter to speak with Banks privately.
Before sunrise, Cutter and the others set out, leaving Crazy Legs behind due to a broken leg sustained in the crash. They navigated through the forest, encountering hazardous terrain and wildlife, resulting in the loss of another clone who fell prey to an animal. During their journey, Syke recounted a war story from the early stages of the conflict, then requested Ghost to share his own, but the older clone declined. Cutter, leading the way, drew the others' attention to an ancient ruined city. The clones noted that their scanners had not detected any signs of the large settlement, and they suddenly found themselves surrounded by the Toma, the indigenous sentient species of Oznek. With their hands bound, the clones braced themselves for execution upon the Toma leader's command, but they were interrupted by another droid attack. Banks requested that the Toma release their bonds so they could fight together, and the Toma complied. Cutter and the others retrieved their weapons and repelled the droids, but Cutter realized that Banks needed to complete their mission. He instructed the sergeant to take Syke and Ghost, while he and the remaining clone trooper held off the droids. Despite Banks' initial refusal to abandon Cutter, Cutter emphasized the necessity of eliminating the Toma as well, prompting Banks and the others to flee.
The mission, from its inception, was revealed to be a deception, with the circumstances and details fabricated by Kishpaugh and Ghost, both of whom were planning to defect to the Confederacy. Their price for escaping the Republic involved creating a pretext for war on Oznek—specifically, destroying a "droid command center" that was actually a power plant. Banks successfully thwarted the plan, killing Ghost and capturing Kishpaugh.
