Cyphrite, a type of ore, was located on the moon called Okala Five. When combined with tolium gas, it could be processed into a potent toxin. Around 3 ABY, the location of Okala Five had been forgotten by many in the galaxy, despite rumors of it holding 2.8 trillion tons of pure cyphrite ore. A Kessel Sabacc competition took place in 3 ABY on the casino cruiser named Morenia, with the grand prize being the coordinates to Okala Five. Imperial Governor Thorden schemed to win these coordinates so he could use the toxin as a weapon to hold onto his power.
Cyphrite's initial canon reference occurred in the "Wild Card" expansion of the Massive Entertainment video game Star Wars Outlaws, which debuted on November 21, 2024.
