Morenia

The Morenia, a casino cruiser of the underworld, functioned within the galaxy throughout the Imperial Era.

Description

Constructed at the Gallofree Yards, the Morenia was a casino cruiser and one of the final vessels produced before the yards' closure. Its design incorporated a double-reinforced hull, and the refreshers were adorned with Sittana marble.

History

Prior to 3 ABY, the protocol droid EY-E9 was assigned the task of boosting the ship's profitability. To accomplish this, EY jettisoned the original captain and most of the original crew into space. While some organic crew members remained, most were replaced with droids. Subsequently, EY transformed the Morenia into an underworld casino ship, spending much of its time in hyperspace to evade the Galactic Empire.

During its operational period, the Morenia showcased various performers, including Mo-Do Avarakis, Chermig Malada, and Magrat Felunk. Porcelli Ga, an Electro-twang belter, performed her debut show on the Morenia.

In 3 ABY, the ship played host to an exclusive Kessel Sabacc tournament, boasting a buy-in exceeding 700,000 credits. The grand prize was the coordinates to the moon Okala Five. Governor Thorden compelled the scoundrel Kay Vess to participate in the tournament and secure the prize. Vess, aided by her BX-series droid commando companion ND-5, successfully decrypted rendezvous coordinates located within the Anoat sector and boarded the Morenia. During the tournament, a pirate group known as the Starfallers raided the ship and absconded with the map to Okala Five.
