Dakorse Teep

Dakorse Teep, a teenage pilot during the Yuuzhan Vong War, served Rogue Squadron as a starfighter pilot in 27 ABY. Following the New Republic's recapture of the planet Borleias from the Yuuzhan Vong—an invading intergalactic species—Teep and Rogue Squadron were stationed there in the Republic's garrison.

In one of the Yuuzhan Vong's numerous attempts to retake Borleias, Teep and the Rogues received orders to strike a Yuuzhan Vong cruiser analogs. Assigned to the flight led by Jedi Master Corran Horn, Teep fell behind as they exited the protection of the Republic base's shields, leaving him exposed. He barely avoided the cruiser's plasma fire, which instead struck the base's shields, causing a concussion that sent Teep's flight into a violent spin. While the others recovered in time, Teep lost control, and his fighter crashed into the jungle, exploding.

Biography

Stationed on Borleias

Corran Horn, Dakorse Teep's flight leader in Rogue Squadron

During the Yuuzhan Vong War, which started in 25 ABY, Dakorse Teep, a youthful pilot, found himself fighting for the New Republic against the invading Yuuzhan Vong, an extragalactic species. By 27 ABY, two years into the conflict, Teep was a member of Rogue Squadron, an elite squadron flying X-wing starfighters, holding the designation of Rogue Seven. Due to the war's heavy losses, Rogue Squadron had to accept less experienced members, giving Teep and others a chance to join the renowned squadron despite potentially lacking the usual qualifications.

After the fall of Coruscant to the invaders, the New Republic retook the planet of Borleias from the Yuuzhan Vong occupation. Teep and Rogue Squadron were then stationed there in the Republic garrison, under the command of General Wedge Antilles. The Yuuzhan Vong launched a campaign to reclaim Borleias, and after numerous battles, Antilles had to consolidate his forces around the old Alderaanian Biotics facility, which was gradually being encircled by Yuuzhan Vong ground forces.

Yuuzhan Vong raid

When the Yuuzhan Vong launched an aerial assault on the biotics facility, Teep and Rogue Squadron were mobilized. The Rogues, now reduced to only nine pilots, were organized into three shield trios—formations of three starfighters flying closely together to enhance their deflector shields and inertial compensators for overlapping protection. Teep was assigned to Jedi Master Corran Horn's trio, along with the Sullustan Leth Liav. Their mission was to attack one of the Yuuzhan Vong cruiser analogs that were bombarding the Republic base with plasma cannons.

As the Rogues ascended beyond the base's shields, Teep fell behind, failing to provide shield support to his wingmates and leaving himself exposed. The cruiser analog, their intended target, unleashed a plasma barrage on the biotics facility, with some shots aimed at Teep's fighter. Horn, realizing the danger, ordered Teep to evade, and the main plasma burst missed him. However, when the plasma struck the facility's shields, the resulting shockwave rocked Teep, Horn, and Liav, sending their fighters into uncontrollable spins. Horn regained control first and watched as Teep and Liav tumbled toward the jungle below. Liav managed to recover just above the trees, but Teep couldn't regain control in time, and his fighter crashed through the canopy, exploding in flames. Saddened by the loss of another young life, Horn led Liav in continuing the battle against the Yuuzhan Vong.

Personality and traits

Dakorse Teep, an inexperienced pilot, was given a position in the celebrated Rogue Squadron while still a teenager due to the extensive casualties of the Yuuzhan Vong War. Corran Horn felt that Teep should have been playing with Horn's son, who was only a few years younger, instead of fighting in the war. When the Rogues were tasked with attacking a Yuuzhan Vong cruiser analog to defend the New Republic base, Teep lagged behind as his fellow pilots cleared the base's shields, exposing himself and leaving his flight without his shield protection. After plasma fire from the Yuuzhan Vong cruiser caused Teep, Liav, and Horn to spin out of control, Teep was the only one who failed to recover, leading to his death.
