Dallenor, a desolate planet, resided in the Mid Rim region of the galaxy and was classified as a desert world. The Jedi Order was alerted to the presence of a Jedi holocron following its unearthing during an excavation on the planet, which was headed by the archaeologist Clatriffe. Acting on the Jedi Council's instructions, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker traveled to Dallenor with the purpose of examining the discovered holocron.
