Darth Wrend

Darth Wrend, a Sith Lord of legendary status, engaged in conflict with the Jedi Order. Presumed to be dead, Wrend resurfaced to battle the Jedi once more. Approximately in the year 67 BBY, Qui-Gon Jinn, then a Jedi Padawan, contemplated whether a prediction found within the holocron of prophecy, which spoke of evil's return when "the righteous [lost] the light," was actually alluding to Darth Wrend, rather than a possible rebirth of the Sith Order, as others familiar with the prophecy thought.

Biography

As a Padawan, Qui-Gon Jinn (pictured) believed that a prophecy of the Sith might have referred to Darth Wrend.

Darth Wrend, a Sith Lord, engaged in combat against the Jedi Order and was subsequently believed to be dead. However, the Sith eventually made their return, initiating another war against the Jedi. By the time Qui-Gon Jinn, a Jedi Padawan, commenced his study of the holocron of prophecy around 67 BBY, Darth Wrend had attained a legendary status within the Order. In that year, Jinn encountered an ancient prophecy foretelling the disappearance and subsequent return of the Sith once "the righteous [lost] the light." The Padawan pondered the fact that most interpretations of the prophecy pointed to a potential reincarnation of the Sith Order, but Jinn considered the possibility that it could specifically refer to Wrend and their revival from presumed death to once again confront the Order.

In 40 BBY, when Obi-Wan Kenobi was Jinn's Padawan, Kenobi brought up the prophecy to his Jedi Master, expressing his frustration with its ambiguity. In 32 BBY, the Sith's continued existence was revealed with the discovery of Darth Maul, who ultimately killed Jinn in a lightsaber duel during the Battle of Naboo.
