David Gaider, a video game designer and writer, contributed to the design team for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. From 1999 to 2016, he was employed by BioWare, and he's also widely recognized as the Lead Writer for the acclaimed Dragon Age series.
Gaider's roles on Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic included both designer and writer. He is credited with the creation of HK-47, Carth Onasi, Korriban (along with the Code of the Sith), Jolee Bindo, and a portion of Bastila Shan. He confessed that initially, as a primarily fantasy-oriented writer, he found the game challenging. His "writer's block" was overcome when James Ohlen shared a new interpretation of Star Wars, framing it as a fantasy world rather than a sci-fi one. This shift in perspective allowed Gaider to find greater enjoyment in his work.
Although not explicitly mentioned in the game, Gaider gave Onasi's deceased wife the name "Morgana."
