The DDC-MR6 modular rifle, a type of modular blaster rifle, incorporated an electromagnetic rail system. This system enabled users to rapidly adapt the rifle to suit diverse combat scenarios. This rail system featured electromagnetic strips running along the weapon's frame, allowing attachments to be exchanged swiftly, even in the midst of combat. Furthermore, the rifle included a stun capability.
Drearian Defense Conglomerate manufactured the DDC-MR6 for the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. Because of the rifle's expensive nature, the Separatists only commissioned one limited production run for testing purposes before opting for less costly weapons. By the time the Galactic Civil War was underway, the rifles had become relatively uncommon, valued at 1000 credits. The limited number of rifles still around were mostly in the hands of collectors or mercenaries who needed a flexible weapon that could fulfill a wide range of requirements.
The Star Wars Roleplaying supplement Special Modifications, released in 2016 by Fantasy Flight Games, was the first source to mention the DDC-MR6 modular rifle.
