The Fantasy Flight Games published a roleplaying game adventure called Debts to Pay. It was a 30-page booklet included with the Star Wars: Edge of the Empire Game Master's Kit, and it came out on July 5, 2013.
Contained within this booklet is an adventure meticulously crafted for gameplay spanning one to two sessions. Additionally, it features a dedicated segment offering guidance to Game Masters on effectively managing nemeses. The narrative unfolds as the player characters (PCs) embark on a mission at the behest of Bargos, a Hutt crime syndicate leader operating in the Outer Rim, to whom they are bound by a significant Obligation. What initially appears to be a straightforward task of collecting funds swiftly escalates into a harrowing discovery, compelling the PCs to confront unforeseen adversaries in a desperate battle for survival.
This adventure presents a formidable challenge while simultaneously establishing two potential recurring antagonists for the PCs: EV-8D3 and R2-B7, droid revolutionaries. These droids are determined to spread their ideology of violent rebellion against all organic life throughout the galaxy. Should the GM desire, they and their doctrine could emerge as a persistent and menacing threat.
Set during the Galactic Civil War, a band of adventurers found themselves in debt to Bargos the Hutt, a moderately influential Hutt Cartel crime boss struggling financially, residing in a palace located somewhere in the Outer Rim. Having recently acquired an oridium mining operation through a game of sabacc, Bargos tasks the group with traveling to the operation's location on a small planet named Gavos, situated just Coreward of Hutt Space, to evaluate the mines' value. Upon arrival, the adventurers realize that the mines' oridium production is lower than expected because, despite the abundance of oridium, the ore is inaccessible and difficult to extract. During their time there, the adventurers encounter a sinister force that may haunt them in the future.
