Dequc, a member of the Jeodu species, dedicated himself to the revival of the Black Sun criminal organization. To achieve this goal, he established his own syndicate named Black Nebula, successfully attracting numerous crime lords and diverse species to rally behind his cause. Following his escape from Mara Jade on Svivren, he journeyed to Nezmi. It was on Nezmi, in 4 ABY, that an assassin brought about his demise, an event that precipitated the swift downfall of Black Nebula.
Dequc, a Jeodu known for his commanding presence, was a natural leader. His name, meaning "Whitehead" in Basic, is a common designation among Jeodu who possess a crystal atop their heads. After Xizor's death, Dequc established a breakaway faction, Black Nebula, aiming to unite the scattered remnants of Black Sun under his leadership. He typically remained at his headquarters on Qiaax, a location concealed within the Bubble Cliffs of Nezmi. Emulating Xizor, he adopted the titles "Lord Dequc" or "Prince."

During his time on Svivren, Dequc engaged in negotiations with various small criminal enterprises and arms dealers. This occurred during the annual Festival of Great Trade held on the planet. However, Dequc was astute and anticipated an attempt by an assassin to eliminate him and dismantle Black Nebula. This intelligence was provided by Strok, a covert Imperial agent working undercover to bolster Black Nebula's prospects. Armed with this knowledge, Dequc strategically deployed a decoy in his place to foil the assassination plot.
Subsequently, Dequc absconded to Nezmi, the planet serving as Black Nebula's base of operations. The organization's fortress was situated within the Bubble Cliffs, a complex mountain range that formed a nearly impenetrable labyrinth. The organization's existence was supported by Lord Allic, the owner of a Casino/Hotel, who provided financial backing to Dequc's operations. Dequc later became aware of Baroness Paltonae, who was actually Mara Jade in disguise. He was impressed by her demonstrations of "devices" capable of unlocking any system within range. Unbeknownst to him, Mara Jade was using her Force abilities to gain complete knowledge of a nearby safe, subtly guiding one of the Jeodu to open it while obscuring their vision. Her telepathic abilities remained undetected by Dequc, providing a perfect cover for showcasing this "new technology" in plain sight.

Later, Mara Jade used a lightsaber she had smuggled in, exploiting the weapon sensor's inability to detect lightsabers, to kill the Imperial spy Strok and several Jeodu. She then grabbed the statue of Xizor and created a small hole in the head to insert her lightsaber with a trigger on the igniter. After being captured, Mara Jade was sent to Dequc's private quarters for another meeting, but this time with a tainted reputation within Black Nebula. She then fabricated a story for Dequc, claiming she represented an "agency" seeking to steal the Xizor statue's head. She explained that the statue contained a hidden treasure map of interest to both her "agency" and Dequc. While Dequc was intently examining the figure's head up close, Mara remotely activated the lightsaber concealed within the statue, fatally stabbing Dequc through his eyes. Mara Jade then escaped aboard Dequc's personal starship and turned it over to Ysanne Isard's Imperial forces on Imperial Center, along with all the information about Black Nebula stored on a data pad.
