Devastation of Mala

Towards the conclusion of the Second Imperial Civil War, Vul Isen, a scientist serving the One Sith, resolved to experiment with his viral spores on Mala. Mala was a backwater planet inhabited by a yet-to-be-identified near-Human race. Following an Imperial fleet's display of power, an unidentified Sith master descended upon a local settlement, causing multiple fatalities. This act led to his encounter with the future Darth Wredd, a proficient duelist with a strong connection to the Force. After defeating Wredd in battle, the Sith master chose to spare his life, taking him aboard the Imperial flagship.

Aboard the ship, Wredd was forced to observe as the Imperials launched a missile containing the bioweapon into Mala's atmosphere. In mere moments, all living organisms across the planet perished, leaving Wredd as the last of his kind. The force of the attack was so immense that it dislodged Mala from its orbit, transforming it into a wandering planet adrift in space. Recognizing Wredd's latent abilities, the Sith master chose him as his apprentice. Wredd's training as a Sith was a harsh ordeal, resulting in the loss of his former self and his complete submission to the dark side of the Force. At a carefully chosen opportune moment, Darth Wredd assassinated his master, subsequently initiating an insurgency against the One Sith.
