A Sith Master served within the ranks of the One Sith during the time of the Second Imperial Civil War, acting as the Sith Master to Darth Wredd. In the year 138 ABY, this Sith duo laid a trap for the Imperial Knight Yalta Val while he was within the Surd Nebula.

The master of Darth Wredd was a member of the One Sith order, led by Darth Krayt, during the Second Imperial Civil War. As the Civil War neared its end, the Sith Master commanded an Imperial fleet that arrived at Mala, a less developed planet populated by village communities. He spearheaded the assault on Mala, where he encountered and fought the local champion of one of the villages, a man who would eventually become known as Darth Wredd. Despite Wredd's skill as a swordsman, having previously defeated the barbaric Schor-Goya, he was ultimately outmatched by the Sith Lord, who cleaved the hilt of his sword using his Sith lightsaber. Following Wredd's surrender, the Sith master imprisoned him aboard the Sith flagship, a Pellaeon-class Star Destroyer.
Despite the surrender of Wredd's people, Vul Isen, a Sith scientist, chose to test his new viral spores bioweapon on Mala. This bioweapon obliterated all life on the planet, transforming it into a desolate, lifeless world. The force of the blast that deployed the viral spores was also sufficient to displace the planet from its orbit, turning Mala into a drifting world wandering aimlessly through the galaxy. The Sith master, having defeated Darth Wredd, decided to take him as a Sith apprentice, recognizing his inherent talent. Darth Wredd's master proved to be a demanding instructor, forcing his apprentice to wear a helmet and employing harsh methods to sway him to the dark side of the Force. While these methods were successful in turning Wredd into a Sith, his apprentice secretly harbored a deep-seated hatred for the One Sith, blaming them for the destruction of his family, his homeworld, and the loss of his identity.

After the death of Darth Krayt and the defeat of the One Sith in 138 ABY, the Sith master and his apprentice, Darth Wredd, retreated into hiding. The One Sith then began a strategy of infiltrating galactic governments in an attempt to restore what they considered their "golden age." By this point, Darth Wredd had come to the conclusion that his master was easily influenced. Consequently, Darth Wredd devised a scheme to assassinate his Master and dismantle the One Sith. At Wredd's instigation, the Sith master launched a missile that brought down the shuttle of the Imperial Knight Yalta Val, who was traveling through the Surd Nebula on a mission to the Carreras system. After Val's shuttle crashed on Mala, the Sith master and his apprentice ambushed Val, and killed his crew. Following a difficult duel, the Sith Master managed to overpower Val; however, as the Imperial Knight lay defeated, the Master was suddenly impaled through the chest by his own apprentice.
Realizing that he could not defeat his Master in a direct confrontation, Darth Wredd strategically used his master's duel with the Imperial Knight to create a distraction. The death of his master liberated Darth Wredd from his confinement within the Sith mask. After removing his mask, Darth Wredd imprisoned Val and stole his armor, assuming the identity of the Imperial Knight. He then initiated a campaign to destabilize the new Galactic Federation Triumvirate and eradicate the One Sith. After Wredd "rescued" the Imperial Knight Jao Assam, Darth Wredd shared the story of his encounter with the Sith Master. When Jao expressed doubt, Wredd presented a fragment from his sword as proof of his account. In the end, Wredd believed he had successfully avenged the destruction of his family and homeworld by eliminating a significant number of the One Sith, including himself, during the Battle of the Floating World, thus completing the cycle of retribution for his forced servitude under the Sith master.

The Sith Master possessed the ability to defeat the Imperial Knight, Yalta Val, in single combat. During their duel, he employed the Force to push debris from Yalta Val's ship and demonstrated the Force Choke ability against the Knight before disarming him. Despite his considerable powers, he was ultimately unable to foresee his apprentice's treachery, which ultimately led to his demise. While the Sith Master was a fierce and merciless warrior, he lacked cunning and was easily manipulated. Darth Wredd was able to exploit this weakness to his advantage during the ambush in the Surd Nebula in 138 ABY.
The master of Darth Wredd made his debut appearance in the first issue of the Star Wars: Legacy Volume 2 comic series. The issue was authored by Corinna Bechko and Gabriel Hardman, with illustrations by Hardman, and was released by Dark Horse Comics on March 20, 2013.
