The Dianoga-class assault starfighter, a product of Koensayr Manufacturing, served during and before the era of the Clone Wars.

The Dianoga, a robust starfighter deemed excessively potent for a time of peace, was developed near the close of the Galactic Republic. However, the increasing turmoil within the Republic meant that few questioned the need for such a formidable craft.
Due to its relatively low cost and ease of acquisition compared to military-grade fighters, the Dianoga quickly gained popularity among pirate and mercenary organizations. However, following the conclusion of the Clone Wars, the discontinuation of its production led to difficulties in sourcing replacement parts for maintenance.
In 32 BBY, Trade Federation-hired mercenaries initiated an attack on Queen Amidala of Naboo. Survivors of the attack later tangled with Vana Sage, a fellow mercenary who had intercepted their communications.
The Dianoga starfighter is featured in the 2001 video game Star Wars: Starfighter and its 2002 sequel, Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter.
