The skirmish that took place at Eos unfolded as the Trade Federation attempted to eliminate Vana Sage after she uncovered damaging evidence implicating the organization. It came to the Trade Federation's attention that Vana Sage had overheard a transmission linking them to a failed scheme to abduct Queen Amidala of Naboo while she was in their employ on Eos. Piloting her starfighter, Sage defended herself against Federation droids and hired mercenaries until only a single, damaged Hunter-Seeker droid remained operational. Pursuing the droid to Eos's surface, Sage discovered the Trade Federation's clandestine factory and mining operations. A shield was then activated, trapping Sage, but she managed to destroy the shield projectors, allowing her to escape Eos permanently. This incident marked the initial confrontation in a series of battles between Vana Sage and the Trade Federation.
In the year 32 BBY, the Trade Federation engaged a group of mercenaries with the task of capturing Queen Amidala of Naboo. Aided by the Trade Federation, the group ambushed Amidala's starship; however, the Queen successfully evaded capture. One of the mercenaries then dispatched a coded message to inform the Trade Federation of the failed operation. The Trade Federation had previously contracted mercenary Vana Sage to conduct tests on Scarab-class droid starfighters in the vicinity of Eos.

While Sage was occupied with these tests, her droid companion, Mod-3, intercepted the coded message transmitted by the mercenary. Upon decoding it, Sage overheard the mercenary detailing the recent unsuccessful attempt to kidnap Queen Amidala, at which point her Trade Federation supervisor initiated a jamming signal. Following this, the Federation employee dispatched a multitude of Hunter-Seeker droids to pursue Sage and then departed the system. After successfully destroying all the droids, a squadron of mercenary starfighters materialized from hyperspace.
The mercenaries launched an assault on Sage, but she triumphed over them all.
After the conflict, Mod-3 examined the wreckage and discovered a solitary, damaged Hunter-Seeker droid proceeding towards Eos. Believing the planet to be uninhabited, Sage opted to pursue the droid.
Sage tracked the droid to a substantial mining installation. Shortly after Sage's arrival at the complex, a shield was activated over the area, effectively trapping her. Remaining composed, Sage deduced that destroying seven out of the eight shield generators would disable the shield. By evading additional Hunter-Seeker droids and other defensive weapons, Vana successfully destroyed the generators and escaped from the planet.
Vana Sage would later revisit Eos alongside Nym, Rhys Dallows, and Reti with the objective of destroying the droid factory and preventing an invasion of Naboo. Due to Vana's prior sabotage, the Trade Federation was unable to employ their defensive shield to safeguard their facilities, and the factory was obliterated during the subsequent battle.
This article draws its material from two sequential missions featured in the 2001 video game Star Wars: Starfighter. In these missions, titled "Contract Infraction" and "Secrets on Eos," players assume the role of Vana Sage, one of the game's three main characters. The destruction of all mercenary fighters, droid dispensers, and mining droids are considered bonus objectives; this article assumes a 100% completion rate.
