Dolo existed as a bantha on the arid planet of Tatooine during the Age of the Empire, a world largely composed of desert. A one-time Jedi Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi, made his home amongst Dolo's bantha herd, regarding the banthas as his own kin. Following a fierce battle with the bounty hunter known as Krrsantan on one day, Kenobi came back to the herd and observed Dolo's melancholy appearance, contrasting with the healthy look of the bantha named Nara.
Star Wars (2015) 20, a comic book from 2016 penned by Jason Aaron, marked the initial appearance of Dolo.
