The Dragon's Teeth were a naturally occurring collection of sharp, uneven rocks situated in an ocean close to Reef Fortress Island on the planet of Hapes. Back in 23 ABY, Hapan Queen Mother Ta'a Chume, alongside Jedi apprentices Tenel Ka, Lowbacca, Jacen Solo, and Jaina Solo, as well as Lobacca's translator droid M-TD, found themselves in a boat pursued by Bartokk assassins who had been contracted to kill Ta'a Chume. Jaina, who was piloting the vessel, chose to guide the assassins toward the Dragon's Teeth in an attempt to cause them to crash. While the assassins avoided a full crash, their vehicle suffered damage, and three Bartokks were ejected. The remaining Bartokks were eventually eliminated by some carnivorous seaweed into which Jaina had directed them.
The Dragon's Teeth made their debut in Young Jedi Knights: Lightsabers, a novel for younger readers authored by Kevin J. Anderson and Rebecca Moesta, released in 1998. Subsequently, it received an entry in The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia, which was published in 2008.
