The Dromedar, a freighter transporting static-locked tibanna gas, was discovered adrift in space by the Gozanti-class cruiser Blood Crow during the reign of the Galactic Empire. An investigative team, including Thrawn and Eli Vanto, was sent to the abandoned ship. They met Nevil Cygni, who claimed that pirates had abducted his crew. Subsequently, Cygni and his associates disclosed their true identities as the pirates themselves, taking Thrawn and his team as prisoners, while the actual crew of the vessel remained hidden and captive.
