Drunost, a planet situated within the Shelsha sector of the galaxy, served as a convenient refueling and resupply destination due to the presence of a Consolidated Shipping center and retail location near its largest settlement, Conso City. While nominally under the control of the Galactic Empire, Drunost's landscape was characterized by mines, farmland, and company towns, populated by both Humans and various alien species. During the Galactic Civil War, the planet also secretly supported a Rebel Alliance supply network. Furthermore, the BloodScar pirate group engaged in illicit activities on the planet.
Within the Colonies region of the galaxy, Drunost was positioned in the Drunost system of the Shelsha sector. It was a two day journey by spacecraft from Ranklinge, another planet located within the same sector. Drunost boasted one of the largest centers for Consolidated Shipping, a major transport corporation, along with numerous corporate administrative buildings. This hub, conveniently located near Drunost's primary urban center, Conso City, made the planet a popular destination for ships needing fuel and supplies. Although rivers and wooded areas existed, Drunost's landscape was largely dedicated to agriculture and mining, with company-owned towns dotting the landscape.
Jedi forces were once stationed on Drunost during the Clone Wars. Later, the planet managed to distance itself from Imperial oversight, as the Empire maintained a limited presence in the Shelsha sector, with only two planets hosting Imperial garrisons and a single Star Destroyer assigned to the area. Consolidated Shipping effectively acted as the local governing authority, striving to uphold law and order.

In 0 ABY, Porter and [Casement], Rebel operatives transporting a shipment of weapons for the Rebel Alliance, were targeted by the Bargleg swoop gang, a group associated with the BloodScar pirate organization. However, a group of former stormtroopers, having deserted the Empire and calling themselves the Hand of Judgment, intervened and protected the shipment, unaware that they were aiding the Rebellion. Following this incident, Han Solo, Chewbacca, and Luke Skywalker were dispatched as Alliance representatives to meet with Porter.
The meeting took place at a tapcafe in Drunost, located across from Consolidated Shipping's Repository and Currency Exchange. Unbeknownst to them, three BloodScar pirates were present at the café, observing a group of off-duty military personnel, as the pirates were planning to rob the repository as a cover to extract the BloodScar swoop gang survivors being held in custody. As the robbery commenced, the three BloodScars used their blasters to hold the soldiers at bay, until Skywalker, Solo, and Chewbacca intervened, killing one pirate and apprehending the others. Despite this, the robbery continued, with the raiders escaping with fifty thousand credits and their rescued comrades. Vilim Disra, the Chief Administrator of the Shelsha sector, reported that Drunost transmitted a hundred thousand HoloNet messages every hour.
The Consolidated Shipping hub and outlet, situated northwest of Conso City, the planet's administrative center, was Drunost's most prominent feature. From above, the transport company's complex bore a striking resemblance to its star-in-swirl logo. Surrounding the hub was a scattered ring of small permacrete landing pads used by freighters for cargo pickup and by customers visiting Consolidated's retail outlet. These landing fields also featured shopping areas where travelers could purchase food and other necessities.
Conso City, the planet's main urban area, was located on the banks of a river southeast of the hub. This medium-sized city served as the central hub for Consolidated's local operations, housing the company's repository, administrative offices, and HoloNet center. A tapcafe catering to both Human and alien patrons was located in the city's northern district, directly across from the repository.
Drunost was first introduced in Timothy Zahn's 2007 novel, Allegiance.
