During the concluding events of the Great Galactic War, specifically the Sacking of Coruscant, a small battle ignited between the Sith Lord known as Darth Malgus and the Jedi Knight named Aryn Leneer. Driven by a desire to kill Malgus as retribution for the demise of her previous Master, Ven Zallow, Leneer journeyed to the captured world of Coruscant with the purpose of locating the Sith Lord. Ultimately, their paths converged amidst the wreckage of the recently decimated Jedi Temple, leading to a brief, yet intense confrontation. Utilizing Ven Zallow's lightsaber, Leneer presented a significant threat to Malgus, even astonishing him with the strength she displayed. The Jedi Knight proclaimed her superiority over the Sith, having directly confronted and overcome his hatred, even piercing his flank with Zallow's lightsaber. Rather than delivering the final blow, she allowed her rage to cloud her decision-making, and withdrew in an Armin speeder piloted by her comrade Zeerid Korr. She departed not because of dread, as Malgus himself acknowledged, but because of her thirst for vengeance. Merely ending his life would not suffice; she sought to inflict upon him the same agony he had inflicted upon her. In response to his actions against her former Master, she would target Eleena Daru, Malgus' concealed lover. Through this act, she imparted to Malgus the genuine meaning of terror.
