Dwartii was a planet situated within the Inner Rim, specifically at grid coordinate N-8 on the Standard Galactic Grid. This planet served as the home of the renowned Four Sages of Dwartii—namely Sistros Nevet, Faya Rodemos, Yanjon Zelmar, and Braata Danlos—who were philosophers and lawgivers, notable but divisive figures from the early days of the Galactic Republic. The name Dwartii was also associated with a social group that possessed its own unique set of glyphs. A depiction of Dwartii's position in the galaxy could be found in Traveler's Guide to Batuu, a book created for the planet Batuu by the historian Eloc Throno.
Within the current Star Wars canon, the first reference to Dwartii appeared in the 2014 novel, Tarkin, penned by James Luceno. The designation "Dwartii" initially arose in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where the Four Sages of Dwartii were mentioned in the 2005 reference work, Star Wars: Complete Locations, authored by Kerrie Dougherty. Building upon that mention, the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas also introduced the Dwartii system.
