Ebenmal, a planetoid, resided within the Ebenmal system situated in the Irnaj sector of the Mid Rim. A battle transpired on Ebenmal between the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance at some point during the years 2 BBY and 1 BBY. Eighty-five Imperial jumptroopers launched an attack on the ancient citadel of Ebenmal, a structure that had purportedly withstood invaders for over ten millennia, instigating widespread chaos. Within a single hour's time span, 3,000 Rebels surrendered. The events of the battle were later documented by historian Chen Ming-di in Imperial Atrocities and Other Noble Pursuits.
The "jump trooper" entry found in the in-game databank of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II, a video game by LucasArts released in 2010 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, mentioned Ebenmal. The StarWars.com Online Companion for The Essential Atlas, a reference book from 2009, pinpointed the Ebenmal system, and consequently the planetoid, in grid square K-17.
