Eelo Begraas
Hailing from Bothawui, Eelo Begraas was a male Bothan. Initially involved in Podracing, Begraas later underwent training to become a pilot of starfighters, ultimately achieving legendary status in the Mid Rim. This lean Bothan dedicated seven years to the Navy of Thaere, frequently being seconded to external entities, notably several Hutt organizations. Begraas piloted a uniquely modified Z-95 Headhunter known as the Dicer; recognized by its characteristic red and black color scheme, its mere presence often prompted enemy pilots to withdraw from battles rather than confront the Bothan.
Biography
Eelo Bregraas, a male Bothan, originated from Bothawui, the homeworld of the Bothan species. Despite possessing talent in traditional Bothan pursuits, his penchant for the dramatic and craving for adrenaline drove him to seek an alternative way of life. Consequently, Begraas engaged in Podracer racing from a young age and departed his home system upon reaching adulthood to enlist in various military groups. Progressing from one militia to another, Begraas evolved into an exceptional pilot, cultivating a formidable reputation that often preceded him. Moreover, Begraas customized his Z-95 Headhunter to enhance its maneuverability, eventually christening the ship the Dicer. Rumors circulated that Begraas had obtained experimental technology during a mission for the Hutts, which he integrated into his starfighter.
Eventually, the Navy of Thaere recruited Begraas from the Thaereian system located in the Mid Rim. There, he ascended to the position of top-ranked pilot, serving as both chief flight instructor and principal naval tactical advisor. He served in this role for seven years, during which the Navy of Thaere leased his expertise to numerous other planetary militaries. This arrangement proved advantageous for the Navy, not only due to the substantial fee they could command for the Bothan's services but also because it provided Begraas—known for his limited attention span—with sufficient stimulation to remain committed to his position within the Navy.
While on planetside, Begraas occasionally found himself in skirmishes. However, he was frequently accompanied by his astromech droid, R6-S1, which he had armed with two mounted blaster pistols. Begraas, who nicknamed the droid "Shootfirst," utilized it to facilitate his escape from such altercations. On two separate occasions, Begraas executed strafing runs over settlements where he had been attacked. These incidents further solidified his reputation. In 31 BBY, Begraas was observed leading training exercises near Morjakar, a planet situated within the Cularin system, for which the Thaereian military served as the Senate-appointed protector.
Personality and traits
Begraas was a slender Bothan whose almost comical physical appearance gave a deceptive impression of being unthreatening, sharply contrasting with his persona as a pilot. He had a persistent sniffle, which compelled him to constantly wipe his nose. Begraas favored wearing faded fatigues over any designated military uniform.
Begraas possessed a short attention span and was easily provoked. The Bothan thrived on the rush of adrenaline, which motivated him to pursue perilous occupations—first as a podracer, followed by a starfighter pilot. He cultivated a fearsome reputation, resulting in many enemy pilots panicking upon encountering him and attempting to flee into hyperspace. His distinctive starfighter, painted black to merge with the stars, further contributed to this reputation. He augmented this with blood red highlights and his personal emblem of a clenched fist.
