Eirriss family

The Eirriss family managed the arms manufacturing business known as Eirriss Ryloth Defense Tech and actively backed the Twi'lek Resistance during the Clone Wars. This support was aimed at countering the Separatist occupation of Ryloth. Following the rise of the Galactic Empire, the Eirriss family persisted in their backing of Cham Syndulla, the Twi'lek Resistance leader, and his ongoing Free Ryloth Movement. Their goal was to liberate the planet Ryloth from the oppressive rule of the Empire. As a result, weapons produced by the family's company, such as the Blurrg-1120 holdout blaster, became iconic symbols of rebellion against the Empire.

Behind the scenes

The Eirriss family received its inaugural mention in the 2019 Star Wars canon reference work, Ultimate Star Wars, New Edition. The family and their associated company share a name with the Star Wars Legends character Cesi Eirriss. Cesi Eirriss initially appeared in the 1997 comic one-shot X-Wing Rogue Squadron ½ created by Michael A. Stackpole. Eirriss was a Twi'lek pilot who served with the Alliance to Restore the Republic.
