Elan, a Force-sensitive individual and a Jedi within the ranks of the Jedi Order, held the esteemed position of Master to the Jedi Knight, Tensu Run. His life was tragically ended, as he was killed by the Grand Inquisitor, a key figure among the Inquisitors who were relentlessly hunting Run, who had ambitions to re-establish the Jedi Order.
Following the execution of Order 66, Elan, a Jedi Order member, managed to survive and went into hiding. This act of self-preservation made him a target, forcing him to evade the pursuit of the newly established Empire and its Inquisitorius. During his time as a fugitive, he took on the responsibility of training his fellow Jedi, a human male named Tensu Run.

Not long after Order 66 was enacted, Elan and Run established a campsite on a forested planet blanketed in snow. It was at this camp that Elan cautioned Run about the perilous path he was treading, a path "skewed by sentiments of the dark side." Elan expressed his concern that Run's determination to confront the Empire would lead him further down a dangerous path. However, Run countered, asserting that the Empire's brutal slaughter of innocent individuals demanded resistance, with the remaining Jedi taking the lead. Elan responded, emphasizing their importance for a greater purpose and cautioning Run against recklessly confronting the Empire. Eventually, Run conceded, resolving their disagreement.
Sometime after their discussion, Elan and Run convened with a group of Jedi aboard the vessel known as the Voyager Dawn. By this point, Elan's health had significantly declined, necessitating the use of a neck brace and a power chair. Furthermore, following the same discussion, his apprentice, Tensu Run, had risen to prominence during the Conquest of Regis Kor, becoming an iconic figure of rebellion against the Empire and a symbol of the surviving Jedi.
After seeking refuge on Zayron, Run embarked on a journey to the Dawn with the intention of speaking to his master about his newfound fame. Run conveyed to Elan that he had no desire to become a symbol, but rather, he simply wished to aid those in need. Despite his reservations, Elan reassured Run that he was deserving of the recognition, attributing it to the teachings he had imparted. Following their conversation, Run departed from the Voyager Dawn and returned to Zayron.

During his flight to the Dawn, Run was observed by Pii-lor, a cargo salvager, who promptly reported his location to the Grand Inquisitor. While Elan was receiving medical attention from a 2-1B surgical droid for his legs, the Inquisitorius launched an attack on the Dawn and boarded the vessel. Once aboard, the Grand Inquisitor engaged in a conversation with Elan, demanding information about Tensu Run's whereabouts. Elan steadfastly refused to provide any information, leading the Grand Inquisitor to kill Elan and the remaining Jedi aboard the Dawn.
Upon sensing his master's demise, Tensu Run pledged to confront the Inquisitors directly, preventing them from continuing their relentless pursuit of the Jedi. Run engaged in combat with the Inquisitorius while simultaneously striving to rebuild the Jedi Order. However, his efforts would ultimately prove futile, as he would eventually fall at the hands of the Sith Lord Darth Vader.
