The Essence Stealer, a creation of Borborygmus Gog for Project Starscream, functioned by extracting and containing the Force-essence from Jedi. The bodies of those targeted were placed in stasis pods, while their extracted essences were gathered into a crystal globe. Gog incorporated technology obtained from a Swarm-class battle droid of the Ssi-Ruuvi, acquired from Raith Sienar. He situated this device within the Jedi library located on the Nespis VIII space station. This experiment was rooted in a theory proposed by Jenna Zan Arbor. Ultimately, the Force-sensitive Human, Tash Arranda, with assistance from her uncle, Mammon Hoole, succeeded in destroying the device.
