Everon, a world defined by its tumultuous weather, served as the original planet and ancestral homeworld for the Evereni species.
Prior to the dawn of the High Republic Era, the Evereni sought a peaceful existence on their tempestuous homeworld of Everon, endeavoring to coexist harmoniously with the natural world. Tragedy struck, however, with the arrival of the Great Storm, a cataclysmic vortex storm originating deep within the planet's core. Unleashing ferocious winds and devastating lightning, it obliterated the Evereni's established civilization.
In the aftermath, the Evereni endured a protracted series of centuries-long conflicts, battling for dwindling resources in the wake of the Great Storm's devastation. This period of strife pushed the Evereni to the brink of extinction, ultimately compelling the surviving members to flee their ravaged planet around 500 BBY, adopting the name the Wanderers. Many years later, the Evereni individual Marchion Ro, whose people had long abandoned their ancestral home, regarded his flagship, the Gaze Electric, as the closest approximation to a true home.
Charles Soule, a Star Wars author deeply involved in the Star Wars: The High Republic initiative, conceived the planet Everon and its native Evereni inhabitants. Everon received its initial indirect mention within Soule's 2021 High Republic novel, The High Republic: Light of the Jedi, where it was depicted as a homeworld contemplated by Marchion Ro. Later, it was explicitly identified as Everon in The High Republic: Eye of the Storm 1, marking its visual debut through flashback sequences. Soule subsequently clarified that the homeworld Ro reflected upon in Light of the Jedi was indeed intended to be Everon, the ancestral home of his species, rather than an alternate planet claimed by the Ro family at some point in their history.
