FA-4 pilot droid

FA-4 pilot droids represent a specific pilot droid model that saw service throughout the time of the Galactic Republic.

Details

This pilot droid model, the FA-4, possessed a slender, fragile body structure situated atop a wheeled base. Characterized by spherical heads and a substantial height exceeding two meters, they were adequately sized to pilot a wide array of starships, notably including Punworcca 116-class interstellar sloops. A peculiar trait of FA-4 units was their capacity to maintain confidentiality concerning the journeys undertaken by their superiors.

History

Darth Tyranus and his FA-4.

Droids of the FA-4 type found employment during the concluding decades of the Galactic Republic, extending into the period of the Clone Wars. Count Dooku, the Sith Lord leading the [Confederacy of Independent Systems](/article/confederacy_of_independent_systems], maintained ownership of a minimum of two FA-4 pilot droids. He utilized these droids aboard his Punworcca 116-class interstellar sloop solar sailer. One such droid served as the pilot for the Sith during his transit from the planet of Geonosis to Coruscant following the Separatist loss in the First Battle of Geonosis. This particular droid met its demise when Dooku crashed on Vanqor. Subsequently, Hondo Ohnaka, a pirate, came into possession of the droid's faceplate. Later on, Dooku would obtain another droid of this type.

Furthermore, FA-4 units operated on Coruscant itself. Around the time of the Battle of Coruscant, these droids were actively engaged in tasks within the vicinity of the Senate Building and the Senate Office Building.
