Vanqor

Vanqor, a planet with a temperate climate, rocky landscape, and perpetually overcast skies, was defined by its smoky crystalline formations. It was located in the Vanqor system, which itself resided in the distant Outer Rim Territories of the galaxy. The presence of swirling silica-dust storms gave the world a blue-gray appearance when observed from space. Situated six parsecs from its nearest planetary neighbor, Florrum, Vanqor was the native world of the gundarks, creatures of immense strength and aggression that dwelled within the planet's caves. Certain caves on Vanqor were also inhabited by bio-luminescent organisms that thrived on the cave walls.

In the year 22 BBY, Obi-Wan Kenobi, a Jedi Master, along with Knight Anakin Skywalker, engaged Count Dooku, the leader of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, in a battle that resulted in him being shot down over Vanqor. This forced Dooku to crash-land his ship onto the planet's surface. However, their shuttle also experienced a forced landing during the conflict. On Vanqor, Dooku abandoned his solar sailer and sought refuge from the Jedi within a gundark-infested cave. Upon their pursuit, Dooku employed the Force to collapse stalactites, separating the Jedi and burying Skywalker. Dooku then seized Skywalker's lightsaber before departing and sealing the cave entrance. Outside, Hondo Ohnaka and his gang of pirates discovered him and agreed to transport him to Florrum. Although the Jedi emerged unharmed, they faced an attack from an enraged gundark. While using the Force to create a barrier, the Jedi inadvertently opened a fissure, releasing a stream of noxious green gas into the cavern. As they struggled to escape the collapsed opening, the gas overwhelmed them, causing them to collapse just as Ahsoka Tano, Skywalker's Padawan, and her clone forces detonated the cave entrance from the outside. After their exit, the clones eliminated the gundark by re-collapsing the entrance.

In 21 BBY, an attempt on the life of Jedi Master Mace Windu orchestrated by Boba Fett led to the crash of the Venator-class Star Destroyer Endurance on Vanqor. Following the crash, Admiral Kilian, the commanding officer, Clone Commander Ponds, and a navigation officer were taken as hostages by Fett and his team of bounty hunters, which included Aurra Sing, Bossk, and Castas. While Windu and Skywalker were searching the wreckage in search of survivors, Fett launched another attack on the Jedi Master, resulting in both Windu and Skywalker being trapped beneath debris until their rescue by Jedi Master Plo Koon, Tano, and the soldiers of the 104th Battalion.

At some point, Kragan Gorr, a Quarren pirate, arrived on Vanqor and rescued Synara San, a Mirialan, from the streets. San mentioned that she and her father used to hunt on the planet. She felt indebted to him initially, but by the time of the First Order-Resistance War, she believed her debt to Gorr was settled.

Vanqor made its debut in Star Wars canon with "Dooku Captured," the eleventh episode of the canon animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars' first season, which was originally broadcast on January 2, 2009. It was initially conceived for Jedi Quest: The Moment of Truth, the seventh installment in the Jedi Quest series of novels for younger readers penned by Jude Watson.
