As a male Flesh Raider, Fashk existed on Tython during the period of conflict known as the Cold War between the Galactic Republic and the resurgent Sith Empire. Being a descendant of the mutated, lower-caste Rakata, he was uniquely the first known being related to the Rakata to be able to interact with the Force after they lost this connection because of a plague in 25,200 BBY.
Living as a Force-sensitive Flesh Raider on the world of Tython, Fashk made his home in the area of the Tythos Ridge while the Jedi Order re-established itself on the planet during the Cold War. During a raid targeting the Pilgrims' Kalikori village, Fashk kidnapped Viyo Kobbeth, a young Twi'lek boy, intending to use him as an interpreter. When a Padawan traveling from the nearby Jedi Temple began searching for Kobbeth, Fashk turned away from the Flesh Raiders and expressed a desire to join the Jedi Order. His motivation was to gain control over his Force abilities through training. Fashk's goal was to become a more skilled hunter by mastering the Force, and the Padawan thought it would be beneficial for the Jedi Masters to assess the Flesh Raider. The Padawan also understood that if Fashk were left to his own devices, he might be susceptible to the dark side. Subsequently, the Padawan consulted with Jedi Master Strayen about the situation, and they both agreed that training was necessary. When the Padawan delivered the news, along with a token to ensure Fashk's safe passage into the temple, the Flesh Raider released Viyo to the Padawan and immediately set off for the Jedi Temple.
Fashk is a character that players cannot control in the massively multiplayer online role-playing game Star Wars: The Old Republic, which was launched by BioWare in 2011. Players controlling either the future Hero of Tython or the future Barsen'thor can encounter Fashk as part of a side quest. Choosing the dark side option involves using Force Pushing to send him off the cliff and into a pit of fire.
