Fate of the Jedi: Omen is the complete and unabridged audio rendition of the Star Wars Legends novel bearing the same title, penned by Christie Golden. Marc Thompson lent his voice to the audiobook, which was brought to listeners by Random House Audio on June 23, 2009. It was available as both a downloadable audiobook and an eight-disc CD collection. Kevin Thomsen directed the project, while Dan Zitt took on the role of executive producer.
The Jedi Order now faces a critical juncture. Jacen Solo's descent and horrifying transformation into the Sith Lord Darth Caedus has placed the Jedi, who use the Force for good, under a cloud of suspicion. A disturbing psychosis has taken hold of two Jedi Knights. Luke Skywalker, facing accusations, has gone into exile. Natasi Daala, the power-hungry Chief of State, is using anti-Jedi feelings to weaken the Order's standing in the Galactic Alliance.
Banned from meddling in Jedi affairs, Luke is driven to find out why Jacen embraced the dark side, and what is causing the Jedi to lose their minds. His search for answers will take him into the Kathol Rift, a place that can bend the mind, and force him to negotiate with aliens who might destroy outsiders as easily as they make deals. With the situation on Coruscant getting worse, he has no choice but to act quickly. Jysella Horn, a Jedi Knight and Valin's sister, has been captured by Natasi Daala's police and is now suffering from the same violent madness that affected her brother. Han and Leia Solo stop another crazy Jedi from causing death and destruction, but even Kenth Hamner, the acting Jedi Grand Master, seems ready to give in to Daala's demands, even if it harms the Jedi Order.
However, a much larger danger is coming. A Sith starship crashed on a primitive planet long ago, leaving the survivors stranded. Over many years, their numbers have grown, they have embraced the dark side, and they are now ready to return to the stars and claim their destiny as rulers of the galaxy. Only one thing stands in their way, a name they have heard through the Force: Skywalker.
