Fellowship of Kooroo

The Fellowship of Kooroo represented a religious order originating from the planet of Qalydon, and was guided by the entity known as Kooroo. Followers gathered at the ancient Shrines of Kooroo, which were constructed in the Outer Rim possibly over 20 millennia prior to the Galactic Civil War.

History

Devotees of the Fellowship undertook spiritual journeys to the shrines located across the Outer Rim. They asserted that the archaeological investigation of these locations disrupted the mystical tranquility found within. The Fellowship's constant mantra was: "Peace is found in the way of Kooroo." Incense was burned as part of their rituals.

Though the Fellowship emerged relatively close to the end of the Old Republic, its roots lay in widespread beliefs concerning the shrines, involving telepathic and potentially Force-based abilities. Despite the religion's seemingly harmless nature, rumors connected the Shrines to gruesome blood rituals and immoral practices. Conflicting narratives also placed the Fellowship's origins in much earlier periods.

The religion's true beginnings were largely unknown to its members. They maintained that their practices fostered telepathic skills among the faithful, although this seemed to be unconfirmed. Furthermore, it appeared that many of the group's priests were imposters. Due to its possible connection to the Force, the Galactic Empire frowned upon the faith.

The New Sith Wars, sometimes called the "Curse of Qalydon," were also associated with the planet Qalydon, which served as the sect's headquarters.

Platt Okeefe once mentioned using the blue robes of a pilgrim as a disguise to evade the Empire and bounty hunters. In 11 ABY, Corellia Antilles delivered a report on the Shrines to the Galactic Museum on Coruscant, implying that the New Republic viewed the Fellowship as "unpredictable" and a potential threat.
