Fether, a planet dedicated to farming, existed within the Corporate Sector of the Outer Rim Territories'. It was positioned along the Solenbaran Merchant Route hyperlane. This world was inhabited by the sentient Ocsin species and featured a modest town with spaceport facilities.
During the era of the Galactic Civil War, a group composed of bounty hunters laid in ambush for the crew of a freighter within the town's confines. This confrontation was triggered by the starship's captain being in debt to the bounty hunters' employer. Subsequently, the crew was pursued back to their vessel before departing Fether.
Within the Fether system, a component of the Outer Rim Territories' Corporate Sector, lay Fether, a terrestrial planet. The Solenbaran Merchant Route hyperlane provided a link between the planet and the Deltooine and Ocsin systems. The Issagra system was located twelve hours of hyperspace travel from Fether.
Sometime during the Galactic Civil War, a freighter delivered a shipment of Gervi fruit to Fether. Following the delivery, the freighter's crew walked through the streets of a local town. As the crew members were in the center of the town, approximately one block from their starship, a group of bounty hunters ambushed them, initiating blasterfire upon them. The hunters had been contracted by a loanshark to capture the freighter's smuggler captain and the rest of the crew because the captain had failed to make loan payments for the ship.
The bounty hunters then gave chase to the freighter's crew through the town's streets. During the ensuing conflict, the local police arrived on the scene. Furthermore, one of the crew members rescued a small child who had wandered into the street from getting accidentally injured. The crew also avoided a vehicle that had lost control after being struck by a stray blaster bolt. Ultimately, the freighter's crew reached their ship and departed the planet, engaging the bounty hunters' modified light freighter, the Heroc's Slayer, before heading for the Issagra system.
Fether, a relatively unimportant and isolated farming world, served as home to a sizable population of sentient Ocsin who had migrated there.
A small farm town featuring a spaceport was situated on Fether. The town's streets were dusty and filled with crates as well as repulsorlift vehicles, including landspeeders and speeder bikes.
Fether was first presented in "Money Troubles," an adventure module intended for use with Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game from West End Games and included in the second edition of the game's rulebook. Bill Smith authored the book, which was published in 1992. This article assumes the adventure plays out as described. The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed Fether in grid square S-3.
Despite the adventure's setting during the New Republic's reign, the entry for the Heroc's Slayer in the 2008 The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia incorrectly states that the group the freighter pursued to the Issagra system in "Money Troubles" was associated with the Rebel Alliance, the New Republic's predecessor.
