Fian
The Fia, with Fian as the singular form, constituted a sentient species. They originated on Galantos, where they adapted to their environment by constructing buildings resistant to groundquakes using the abundant ores and minerals extracted from the planet. Known for their peaceful nature, the Fia utilized intricate hand and arm movements for communication, and they referred to the Koornacht Cluster as "The Multitude."
During the period of the Black Fleet Crisis, the Fia faced a threat from the Yevetha, but they were defended by the forces of the New Republic Defense Force. Following the resolution of the crisis, the Fia became members of the New Republic.
In the course of the Yuuzhan Vong War, the leader of state, Borsk Fey'lya, disregarded the desperate appeals of the vulnerable Fia. Driven by desperation, the Fia entered into an agreement with the Peace Brigade in an attempt to avoid the destructive power of the extra-galactic invaders. They permitted the Brigade to extract the valuable resources of Galantos and intentionally disrupted the Republic's communication network. In return, the Brigade informed the Yuuzhan Vong that the Yevetha posed an immediate danger. The Yuuzhan Vong acted upon this information, completely annihilating the Yevetha. However, they then turned their attention to the diverse species residing within the Cluster. Han Solo and Leia Organa Solo undertook a mission to Galantos to investigate the communications failure, which ultimately saved the Fia from being killed by the Yuuzhan Vong.
Brabe and Jobath Knox were two well-known members of the Fia species.
