"Fierce Currents," a comic book spanning 20 pages, can be found within Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures Volume 1. Haden Blackman penned the story, while the artistic duties were handled by the Fillbach Brothers. The lettering was crafted by Michael David Thomas, and the coloring was provided by Sno Cone Studios, Ltd.. The narrative unfolds five months following the events of the First Battle of Geonosis.
Kit Fisto, a Jedi General, believed that he had eliminated the Quarren command structure by destroying the Crab cannon during the Battle of Mon Calamari. However, the highly coordinated and meticulously planned assaults on the Mon Calamari supply routes have convinced him that the Quarren he previously eliminated were not the sole leaders involved in the conflict on Mon Calamari.
To avoid alerting his targets, General Fisto departs from his troops and embarks on a solitary search. Fisto, acting alone, successfully dismantles five Quarren outposts, leaving his adversaries perplexed. They are unable to determine the cause of the destruction, as no Republic troop movements have been observed.
At the sixth outpost, General Fisto manages to extract crucial information from a Quarren. The Quarren receive their directives telepathically, directly into their minds. While interrogating the Quarren for further details, he is ambushed by the seemingly harmless Moappa. As they begin to communicate, he comes to the realization that he has located the true leadership.
His lightsaber proves largely ineffective against the Moappa, prompting him to utilize the Force. Fisto discovers that the Moappa only achieve sentient thought when they are in groups, leading him to separate them. The Moappa were fighting the Mon Calamari because they were not recognized as citizens of their planet.
After relaying his findings to the Calamari, he advises them to pursue diplomatic solutions to resolve the conflict involving the Quarren, Mon Cal, and the Moappa.
