During the era of the New Sith Wars, there existed a lineage known as the Calimondra family, who possessed sensitivity to the Force. The family's matriarch, Vilia Calimondra, was a Sith Lord who expanded her dominion through multiple marriages. She bore seven offspring, each asserting their claim as Vilia's singular heir. In the year 1066 BBY, Vilia inaugurated the Charge Matrica, a competition designed to determine which of her children could most effectively augment her empire. The empire of Vilia grew even larger; however, her children eventually engaged in warfare against one another. Chagras ultimately triumphed over his sibling rivals, but met an untimely demise in 1040 BBY. Vilia found herself with several grandchildren, each vying for her inheritance. Consequently, Vilia initiated a Second Charge Matrica, yet, once more, Vilia's prospective successors devolved into internecine conflict.
Periodically, the Calimondra family members convened holographically for an event called The Bequest. At these Bequests, Vilia would distribute rewards based on her grandchildren's achievements. One such bequest occurred in 1032 BBY, shortly following the liquidation of the Bactranate and the annexation of the Dyarchy.
