A Rodian is shown here, and they have ears located on the sides of their head.
The ear, essentially a flap of tissue, served as the organ for auditory perception. Across numerous species, a common trait was the presence of paired ears, positioned symmetrically on opposing sides of the head. Certain species, including the rupings, Lanniks, and Lasats, possessed enhanced auditory capabilities relative to humans, attributable to their larger ears. The Pau'ans originating from Utapau exhibited heightened sensitivity to sound, necessitating the use of specialized coverings to shield their delicate ears. In the case of the Yuzzum, their ears bore a resemblance to antennae in terms of their shape. The Gungans were characterized by elongated, fin-like ears featuring prominent lobes, which were specifically denoted as haillu. Twi'lek ears displayed sexual dimorphism, with males exhibiting subtly pointed ears akin to those of humans, while females possessed conal nodes.
