Seer is seen launching from the Vigiliance. The designation Seer identified a viper probe droid squadron. This squadron served the Galactic Empire in the year 3 ABY.
Seer had its base of operations on the Vigiliance. The Battle of Hoth saw the Empire triumph over the Rebel Alliance in 3 ABY. However, many Rebels managed to escape. These survivors were being escorted to safe space by the Defiance Task Force, and Admiral Holtz received orders to eliminate them. His strategy involved deploying numerous viper probe droids throughout the galaxy to locate the Rebel fleet. The Seer group was one of the probe groups assigned to this critical mission.
When the fleet came under attack by two A-wings originating from the Mon Calamari Star Cruiser named Defiance, the Corrupter Task Force launched Seer in 3 ABY. The Corrupter launched a minimum of two probes belonging to the Seer Group, however, Ace Azzameen, piloting the #2 A-wing, destroyed both of them.
