T-24 airspeeder

The T-24 airspeeder, sometimes called atmospheric flyers, represents an airspeeder model crafted for atmospheric use. Incom Corporation manufactured these vehicles in the years leading up to the Battle of Naboo.

T24 airspeeder Nella Bold's T-24 atmospheric flyer Featuring a wedge-like shape, the T-24 airspeeder was relatively small. It included a single fin positioned above its central cockpit. Entry was gained via a side door. The interior space allowed for one pilot and a pair of passengers.

A limited production run of just two hundred T-24s was undertaken by Incom. By 37 BBY, these speeders were already viewed as obsolete. Nella Bold, the daughter of Orin Bold, who owned the Bold moisture plant located on Ord Mantell, stated that she had obtained a T-24 of Incom make, colored green, after it had been abandoned by miners. Nella implemented several alterations, incorporating a thrust accelerator from Subpro and an exhaust converter from Mobquet, successfully working around the compatibility issues that existed between Incom and Mobquet products. Furthermore, she installed a retractable twin blaster cannon on the lower side of the speeder.

Five years before the Invasion of Naboo, Nella provided transport for Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi to Taxer Sundown's stellar energy station using her T-24. The Jedi found themselves under attack from Sundown's henchmen. Nella was then kidnapped and taken to Sundown's personal hideaway. The Jedi had intended to give chase in the T-24, but when they returned to the docking bay, they only saw a thief flying away with the airspeeder.

As it turned out, the T-24 was returned to the Bold moisture plant. There, Obi-Wan discovered that Sundown had originally gifted the speeder to Orin, and had used hypnosis to make him believe he had salvaged it. Sundown employed the vehicle to secretly move goods from the moisture plant to his own facilities, with Nella unknowingly transporting them. When Obi-Wan confronted Sundown, Sundown made his escape in the T-24, prompting Obi-Wan to pursue him on a speeder bike. He severed the fin from the top of Sundown's stolen vehicle, causing the airspeeder to crash outside the energy plant, resulting in Sundown's death by a broken neck. A Mantellian Savrip forcibly tore off the canopy.

The T-24's design served as the basis for Incom's later T-47 airspeeder model, although the latter lacked the top-mounted fin.
