Master Firwirrung, the foremost entechment expert stationed on the Ssi-ruuk vessel, the Shriwirr, held the position of master to Dev Sibwarra. Alongside Elder Sh'tk'ith, he bore the responsibility of studying Dev since his initial capture. Firwirrung met his end aboard the Shriwirr when his scheme to seize Luke Skywalker for entechment experiments went awry. Subsequently, the Jedi, aided by the liberated Sibwarra, seized control of the ship during the Battle of Bakura.
Distinguished by his brown scales, Firwirrung attained significant influence despite his relative youth and his position within a Ssi-ruuvi caste often regarded as marginalized.
Circa 2 BBY, Firwirrung served as an assistant to Yifaii, the chief of entechment. Yifaii was present during the Ssi-ruuvi invasion of G'rho. During this time, a young human boy, Dev Sibwarra, was spared from entechment. Yifaii believed that Dev warranted further examination on Lwhekk, and the decision was made to entrust the boy to Firwirrung's care.
By 4 ABY, Firwirrung had risen to the position of entechment chief aboard the Shriwirr during the Ssi-ruuk's assault on Bakura. Throughout his tenure in military service, he brought about numerous advancements in entechment technology. His remarkable proficiency in manipulating, repairing, and designing entechment apparatus propelled him far beyond his peers within his caste. However, he faced disapproval from superiors and fellow crew members, including Admiral Ivpikkis, and even those from his own caste who viewed him as excessively ambitious and undeserving of the accolades he received.

Firwirrung maintained his role as Dev Sibwarra's master, treating him as a companion or pet. Dev resided in Firwirrung's quarters and displayed profound loyalty to the entechment chief, despite enduring torture and mistreatment at the hands of the Ssi-ruu over time.
Upon receiving information about an outsider possessing Force abilities akin to Dev's, the decision was made to modify the entechment apparatus accordingly. Firwirrung devised a plan to adapt the apparatus to enable a Force-user to draw energy from humans across vast distances. In a matter of hours, Firwirrung conceived, constructed, and tested such a device, a feat that would typically require weeks, months, or even years for most Ssi-ruuk engineers to accomplish. The enhanced entechment apparatus underwent testing on Dev, who, under the influence of brainwashing by Elder Sh'tk'ith, willingly served as the test subject.
After negotiating with Wilek Nereus, the governor of Bakura, a Ssi-ruuk contingent, including Firwirrung, Sh'tk'ith, and Dev, infiltrated Bakura and landed on Pad 12. Their objective was to capture the Force-user, Luke Skywalker, and transport him to the Shriwirr. They succeeded in this endeavor, but the Jedi managed to liberate Dev from his brainwashing. Subsequently, Dev attempted to conceal his true feelings from the Ssi-ruuk.
With Luke captured, he was taken to the entechment laboratory and secured to the chair. However, Dev revealed that he was no longer brainwashed, and all the lights in the laboratory went out. Luke had harnessed the Force to compel a P'w'eck to attack a control board.
Firwirrung and Sh'tk'ith made their escape. Firwirrung immediately began work on a second entechment chair, while Elder Sh'tk'ith and several P'w'ecks confronted Luke and Dev, who were attempting to escape on Deck 16. Eventually, Luke and Dev reached the engineering deck where Firwirrung had been working. There, he and a group of P'w'ecks ambushed the pair. Firwirrung accused Dev of betrayal and shot him, causing him injury. In the Dominant, Commander Pter Thanas launched a blast on the Shriwirr, resulting in Firwirrung's death.
