Fislan was a planet located within the Fislan system. This system was situated in the Mortex sector, which itself was found in the Trans-Hydian region of the Outer Rim Territories. By 2 ABY, a unit of the Rebel Alliance was conducting training exercises on Fislan. During this period, Cene Gilvent, an Ocsin swordmaster and a part of the Zulirian Swordmasters, a group dedicated to melee weapon combat, assaulted and almost killed a Rebel soldier. Major Bren Derlin of the Alliance later documented this event in a SecuriDex datafile concerning Gilvent, which was part of a Task Force on Alliance Security report.
The planet Fislan was first referenced within Alliance Intelligence Reports, a 1995 publication for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game by West End Games. Later, the StarWars.com Online Companion for the 2009 reference work The Essential Atlas specified that the Fislan system, and consequently the planet Fislan, was situated in grid square R-4.
